Metal-free footwear

Friday, 20 July, 2007 | Supplied by: Trading Downunder

A range of metal-free safety footwear from European manufacturer JAL-Group has been introduced to Australia. The Spider model features a nonmetallic composite material, which is much lighter than steel, is non-magnetic and does not conduct heat, cold or electricity.

It also includes a nonmetal Flex-System, anti-perforation mid-sole in composite material, which prevents nails and sharp items piercing through the soles, to combine protection and flexibility in a lightweight shoe.

The upper is made of an ultra-breathable suede/fresh material. The sole is anti-slip, anti-abrasive, chemical, acid and fuel resistant. The footwear also features an outstanding shock absorber in the heel to reduce fatigue. The JAL range is certified to Australian Standard AS/NZS 2210.3-2000 and is available in the traditional black leather, suede slip-on and sports jogger.
