The F3G-C scanner is a category 3 safety product that uses a continuously rotating mirror to deflect a pulsated laser beam.

Objects are detected when the beam is reflected back to the scanner, which is able to determine the distance to the object by the time taken for the beam to return. Most applications require only a 180-190° field of view but the scanner is capable of detection within 300°.

The scanner provides protection in machine areas where workers could potentially be injured by moving parts. Any moving object within a 6 m radius can be detected by the scanner, which also offers an advanced warning output when objects are within a 7.5 m radius of the scanner. The Configuration Software for Laserscanner (CSL) is an optional Windows-based software product that allows the F3G-C to be quickly and easily configured. It provides full online monitoring capabilities and can configure certain parameters such as dead bands, etc, in the scanner. Data can be saved to disk for later retrieval.
