Extech Electronics has released two high-voltage withstand testers in its 7400 series.

The 7473 allows hi-pot testing up to 20 kV AC at 10 mA and the 7474 provides DC testing up to 20 kV at 5 mA. Both of these new instruments use the 'smart GFI' feature to assure the safety of test personnel. Also included is the 'ramp-hi' and 'charge-low' feature to increase the accuracy, test voltage regulation and speed of the test cycle for reactive loads.

These instruments are designed for production line testing because 50 sequential memory locations are provided plus optional interfaces for PLC, RS232 and GBIP.

Typical applications include the testing of spark plugs, connectors, wires and cable assemblies.
