The Petzl ASAP Mobile Fall Arrester represents an advance in the safety of industry back-up devices. It is designed to arrest a free-fall, stop an uncontrolled abseil and to function even if reflexively grabbed by the user.
The design features include: arrest a fall of a single person, stop an uncontrolled descent or a slide on an inclined surface, lock on vertical or angled rope, move up or down the rope without manual intervention, lock when shock loaded, does not slide down the rope under its own weight, suitable for use on 10-13 mm diameter, kernmantle construction, rope and a weight with karabiner of 427 g.
