The Irwin bi-metal Blue Blade has a spring back steel body and a high-speed steel edge. The result is a flexible, shatterproof blade that stays sharper longer than carbon steel blades.

A shatterproof blade greatly reduces the risk of injury to users. The Blue Blade is much safer to use, as it can bend and flex and won't break under pressure.

The complimentary ProTouch knives also feature the Quick Change system, which allows users to quickly and easily change blades. The blade on a retractable knife can be changed with the slide of a button. On a fixed knife the user simply untwists the non-removable fastener.

The knives also provide internal storage for up to 5 spare blades. They are held securely in place so they won't spill out, eliminating yet another potential hazard to the user and other workers.
