Back support belt

Wednesday, 15 March, 2006 | Supplied by: Vision Safe

Body-tec has developed a back support belt specifically designed to prevent the wearer bending at the waist. This encourages the user to bend at the knees and use correct lifting techniques when undertaking manual handling tasks.

Known as the BT2500, it comes in two versions - one with the integral wedge-shaped, lumbar support pad and another the BT2250 with four anti-slip, flexible stays to harness the wearer's stomach muscles so as to help keep the spine in the proper alignment when undertaking manual handling tasks. This reduces the risk of strains and other injuries including prolapse ('slipped disc').
