Victoria Workcover is running a series of workshops to help improve the operation of OHS committees in the food manufacturing industry.

Despite improvements in recent years, too many manual handling injuries are still occurring in the food manufacturing industry. Effective OHS Committees play a vital role in guiding the management of safety issues to reduce workplace injury.

These workshops will help:

  • learn how to structure an OHS Committee strategically to create a proactive, well-managed health and safety culture
  • refocus a Committee's efforts by taking a strategic view of workplace safety, rather than reacting to day-to-day issues
  • rejuvenate a Committee by accomplishing real outcomes.

Each workshop will be held from 9.00 am - 12.30 pm, with registration from 8.30 am. Morning tea and lunch will be provided.

The workshop schedule is as follows: Shepparton (1 March), Warrnambool (8 March), Bairnsdale (15 March), Metropolitan East (22 Match).
