NSW representatives have joined today's meeting of the occupational health and safety working group, according to an announcement by the ASCC just before one o'clock this afternoon.

ASCC chairman, Bill Scales told Safety Solutions that he is pleased NSW has returned to the discussion table. He said that national OHS issues are of a serious nature and discussions must continue.

Yesterday, NSW representatives to the discussions were told to pull out of the harmonisation talks by Minister John Della Bosca.

He said that federal and state representatives had agreed that the discussions would be subject to four principles and that these principles had been dropped from the agenda.
