Wednesday, 28 March, 2007

A series of free hearing conservation seminars will be held in April by the Bacou-Dalloz Hearing Safety Group.

Audiology and regulatory affairs manager for the Bacou-Dalloz Hearing Safety Group in the US, Brad Witt will present What You Need To Hear: Best Practices In Hearing Conservation. The seminar combines audio and visual demonstrations to convey hearing conservation principles in a practical way.

Seminars will be offered throughout Australia and are open to hearing conservation program managers, safety managers and industrial hygienists.

The three-and-a-half-hour program includes information on implementing an effective and compliant hearing conservation program. Topics include: the basics of hearing conservation; effects of noise-induced hearing loss; AS/NZS Standards; implementing an effective HC program; tips on selecting and fitting hearing protectors; and training and motivating workers to wear them.

All attendees will receive posters, flyers, product samples and other motivational tools for use in their own hearing conservation programs.

The schedule begins on 18 April and will include stops in Gladstone, Brisbane, Sydney, Geelong, Melbourne, Adelaide and Mackay. A registration form is available at www.bacou-dalloz.com.au.
