Green card deadline for NSW

Tuesday, 08 August, 2006

There is one month to go until the "green card' deadline in NSW and WorkCover has issued a reminder to those NSW construction workers who have not yet updated their certification.

Employees who are still using their green cards and "pre-29 March training certificates' as proof of training have until 1 September to obtain a WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Certificate.

"Although a large number of cardholders have already converted to new WorkCover certificates, a number of green card holders missed the two-year conversion period, which ended on 29 March," acting WorkCover chief executive officer, John Watson said.

To obtain the new certification workers must undergo their construction induction retraining with a WorkCover accredited trainer. Further information on the Construction Induction Certificate is available at www.workcover.nsw.gov.au.
