uvex variomatic transition lenses
The uvex variomatic lens automatically and quickly adapts to variations in light conditions. The transitioning nature of the lenses gives them the ability to darken in sunlight within 10 s when exposed to UV rays. In darker surroundings the lenses return completely to their original state after approximately 30 s. It is claimed that no other coating switches this quickly.
Protective eyewear with the variomatic coatings is suitable for workers who frequently alternate between inside and outside work or between light and dark environments. The benefit is that each worker requires only one pair of safety spectacles, rather than two.
They are available in the uvex super-fit frames with clear, SCT brown and grey lens tints.
