St John Ambulance G5 and G3 Elite defibrillators

In a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) emergency, lives are saved by people who are brave enough to use a defibrillator, often for the first time. A person surviving an SCA will depend on two things — receiving instant CPR and defibrillation within minutes. Every minute counts and relying on paramedics alone to save SCA victims may not be enough. This is why it is important to have a defibrillator handy in the workplace and to ensure people are comfortable using them.

To improve bystander participation, St John Ambulance has launched two Defibrillators — the G5 and the G3 Elite. Both defibrillators use advanced audio and video technology to guide first-time users to apply defibrillation the right way, and faster.

The G5 and G3 Elite Defibrillators feature RescueCoach to guide users through the entire rescue with clear voice and text prompts. Both models also feature paediatric pads to automatically alter the shock capacity needed for paediatric victims.

The G3 Elite defib also features a direct connect cable that can download up to 60 min of rescue data and store multiple rescues. The Automated External Defibrillator (AED) combines real-time CPR feedback with user-paced rescue prompting. The G3 Elite defib also comes with a bright backlit text display of rescue prompt and critical rescue information.

The G5 Defibrillator features USB Data Download, with 90 min of rescue data available. The G5 model also conducts daily self-tests on pads, battery and internal circuitry, to ensure that the AED is always Rescue Ready. The G5 Defibrillator also comes with Intellisense CPR Feedback, featuring distinct text and voice corrective CPR prompts for rate, depth and recoil.
