Sperian Prospector miner’s belt

Thursday, 18 March, 2010 | Supplied by: Honeywell Industrial Safety

The Prospector miner’s belt is designed to carry emergency breathing apparatus and other tools and has been engineered to provide safety and to maximise comfort for workers in the underground mining industry.

It has a longer battery strap that enables maximum adjustment of the user’s self-rescuer unit and battery pack. Users wear their self-rescue units at their side instead of the back and the belt eliminates discomfort when sitting down, while ensuring worker safety compliance.

The lightweight belt has a fully adjustable waist strap which incorporates a wider padded back with 3D mesh for sweat absorption and lumbar support. Quick-connect buckles allow for easy fitting in restricted environments.

To minimise sag when the battery pack and self-rescue units are mounted, the belt has loops which hold the battery strap in place as well as practical tool loops for hanging additional tools.

It is manufactured from 43 mm polyester webbing, is able to be used in conjunction with a full body harness and is available in small, medium or large sizes.
