SCBA carrying system

The Wormald ACS (advanced carrying system) has been developed to provide a safer and more ergonomic means to carry SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) in industrial and fire environments.

Utilising ThermoFlex technology to keep the carrier weight down (2-3.1 kg without mask and cylinder), user burden is reduced. A sculptured, soft back-plate, developed from research by osteopaths and fabric and industrial technologists, offers greater flexibility of movement and comfort.

The back-plate and harness can both be washed with turnout gear for decontamination purposes, while the fabric will maintain its flame retardancy for 50 washes at 30-40°C.

The pneumatics system is supplied with compact first-breath-activated demand valves including bypass. Removing the pneumatics simply requires 90° rotation, eliminating the need for tools.

The system features corrosion-resistant nickel-plated components as well as flame-retardant webbing and cylinder band for further safety.

A range of facemasks, cylinders and valve styles is available, allowing the system to be tailored to individual requirements. A hard carrying case is a further option.
