The Pandemic Emergency Response kit is suitable for use during a pandemic influenza outbreak. Each kit is clearly labelled 'Emergency Use Only' to prevent everyday use and has a five-year shelf life. The kit is designed to cater for the individual for six weeks of all-day usage and the contents and quantities were derived following two years of research during the swine flu period.
Each pandemic kit contains: 175 individually packaged respirators, safety spectacles, seven bottles of hand-sanitising gel, 175 alcohol-based wipes, an emergency-use only carry bag, instruction booklet and a pandemic-style P2 respirator. The contents of the kit comply with AS/NZS 1716:2003.
