Occupational health shoes

Monday, 01 December, 2008 | Supplied by: BASF Construction Chemicals Australia Pty Ltd

The MBT Night footwear is designed to reduce stress on knee and hip joints while increasing muscle activity in the hamstrings and lower limbs when standing, contributing to lowering occupational back and joint injuries for workers who spend long hours on their feet.

The shoes feature a ‘radiused’ sole that recreates the feeling of walking barefoot on a soft, uneven surface. This is claimed to improve gait and posture and relieve pressure on the joints and back, as well as exercise a large number of muscles when walking and standing.

Other features include: full-grain leather upper construction; a rubber outsole to provide traction for differing conditions; and a foam insole with a quick-drying, breathable structure that assists moisture management.

The shoes are available in European sizes 33 to 49.
