Industrial noise dosemeter

Tuesday, 09 June, 2009 | Supplied by: Acoustic Research Laboratories Pty Ltd

The Pulsar 67 data logging personal dosemeter is designed to be carried in a pocket or on a belt to measure and record noise levels in potentially noisy workplaces; its measurement functions determining compliance with industrial ‘Noise at Work’ regulations and standards.

The instrument is housed in a metal case that protects it from knocks and electro-magnetic radiation.

Supplied with the instrument is a microphone that can be mounted close to the wearer’s ear to monitor noise levels. It also includes set-up software that enables stored events and short ‘Leq’ data to be downloaded from it to a PC via the RS232 serial ports. The software is configured with default measurement parameters and allows the user to change the operating parameters of the instrument, which can then be permanently stored and recalled at any time. The software can also be used to program the sound level meter to automatically stop and start events.
