Howard Leight by Sperian’s QuietDose personal hearing dosimeter

Howard Leight by Sperian’s QuietDose is claimed to be the only personal dosimeter that measures and records a worker’s actual in-ear exposure to noise over an entire work shift.

The dosimeter personalises hearing conservation by providing precise, real-time noise dose data that allow both workers and management to make the best-informed hearing protection decisions.

It also removes any guesswork and reliance on assumptions. Employees and their managers are informed in real time about their accumulated noise dose exposure over the length of a shift.

Unlike devices which only measure ambient noise, this device uses in-ear dosimetry integrated into earplugs and earmuffs to accurately measure every sound that reaches a worker’s eardrum, whether hearing protection is being worn or not.

Monitoring throughout the workday means workers can be sure they’re operating within safe noise levels. And with real-time LED alerts, workers are immediately warned when their noise dose approaches or exceeds safe limits and can remove themselves from harmful noise environments.

Managers can easily review the QuietDose analysis of each employee and can then train and monitor those employees who are at risk of noise induced hearing loss (NIHL) and standard threshold shift.
