Fire-rated sock

The Wilderness Wear fire-rated sock has been designed using a three-layer construction method.

The top welt of the sock, which is above the terry area in the leg, is made of straight pure wool.

The open flame test result of 15 seconds is considered high for most industries. As a comparison the fibre construction cotton/nylon sock would have a rating of 2-3 seconds.

The sock can be used in such areas as fire fighting, smelting, steel making and in extreme heat and hazardous areas.
