Data radio

The Piccolo 433 MHz is an RS232 data radio with a usable air data rate of up to 38.4 Kbps. The unit is suitable for difficult RF environments with features such as selectable over-the-air data rate, selection between data speed and increased RF performance, and frequency hopping with automatic retries for reliable data recovery in a crowded spectrum.

The Piccolo unit is designed for solar-powered or handheld applications that may need adaptable coverage with low current consumption, store-and-forward repeater and roaming remote functionality.

Remote units will automatically acquire a base or repeater coverage area and many remotes can be used within the same coverage area. With automatic unit registration the Piccolo unit manages the data transfer between multiple remotes and the base, minimising over-the-air collisions and maximising usable data speed.
