Elliotts welding protective clothing range includes welding jackets, coats, trousers, sleeves, hoods, knee pads, leggings and spats made from all kinds of leathers and flame-retarded (FR) cottons or combinations of both. The range is suitable for stick, MIG or TIG welding, working outdoors, indoors or in confined space.

Proban and FR cotton offers a high level of protection to welders without being as heavy as the leather alternative. This can be an advantage on worksites with high temperature and humidity levels. The welding apparel is available in three materials configurations.

Proban garments feature flame resistance, thermal protection, comfort and durability. Manufactured using Proban and Wakatac Proban, Proban has been developed to give cotton and cotton-rich fabrics flame-retardant properties that meet industry fire regulations. Proban is a chemically treated cotton fabric designed to protect the wearer from a range of workplace hazards such as arc flash, flash fire, molten ferrous metal splash, exposure to welding and wildland firefighting. The process ensures the fabrics are guaranteed for flame resistance for the life of the garment, provided recommended wet laundering or dry cleaning procedures are followed.

FR cotton garments are suitable for lighter welding protection or where high temperatures and/or humidity are a workplace hazard. Features include: flame resistance, thermal protection, comfort and durability. FR cotton welding apparel is manufactured from treated FR cotton.



The Wakatac, Blue Max and Hi-Vis welding apparel ranges include jackets which combine the FR cotton and leather. Leather is used in the sleeves, which is the area that normally wears out first.

Wakatac welding apparel is constructed using premium 320 gsm Proban, which is 100% cotton treated with Proban to offer a cool, comfortable, 100% FR product suitable for medium-duty welding. The range includes jackets, jackets with leather sleeves, jackets with safety harness access point, hoods, sleeves and trousers.



Blue Max is constructed using Elliotts Blue 320 gsm FR-treated cotton. The Blue Max cotton offers a cool, comfortable, 100% FR product suitable for medium-duty welding. The range includes hoods and neck flaps and the Blue Max range includes jackets and hoods.

The Orange Proban high-visibility range is made from 320 gsm Proban, a flame-resistant 100% cotton. The welding apparel is cool, comfortable and suitable for medium-duty welding applications.
The welding jackets are manufactured from materials conforming to AS/NZS 1906.4:2010 and certified to AS/NZS 4602:1999 Class D/N.
