3M Peltor H505B Welding Helmet Earmuff
The 3M Peltor H505B Welding Helmet Earmuff is designed to be used with welding helmets, in particular the company’s Speedglas 9100. The earmuffs provide moderate level attenuation that meets the needs of most welding industry applications.
When correctly selected and worn, they help reduce exposure to hazardous levels of noise and loud sounds. The earmuff’s neckband design helps improve compatibility with other personal protective equipment.
The earmuff has a modern, stylish, slimline cup design that incorporates liquid sealing rings for improved comfort. Relatively large space inside the cups helps reduce moisture and heat build-up. The soft, wide cushions also assist in decreasing pressure around the ears and provide increased wearer comfort.
Easy-to-replace cushions and inserts ensure the earmuffs remain hygienically clean.
Although suitable for use in the welding industry, the earmuffs can also be used in a range of other industrial applications to protect against hazardous noise and loud sounds. Examples of typical applications include: agriculture, automotive construction, chemical and pharmaceutical manufacture, light engineering and woodworking.
Welders are routinely exposed to hazardous noise levels. Until the introduction of the Peltor H505B Welding Helmet Earmuff, earplugs, low-attenuation banded plugs or bulky earmuffs were the only option to protect welding professionals. This was often not ideal, especially in dirty or very loud environments. The lightweight, slimline design of the Peltor earmuff allows welders to protect themselves in the majority of industrial settings.
