Emergency messaging app upgrades safety with COVID-19 support
Emergency messaging mobile app SafeTag has implemented coronavirus (COVID-19) updates in its July 2020 release. These updates are designed to help employers and workers who are feeling unwell to better manage their own welfare. The app’s COVID-19 support updates include one-tap alert, safety notes and first aid notes.
One-tap alert enables users to place a note in their medical profile if they are worried they may have COVID-19. Then, should their health deteriorate rapidly, there is the ability to activate an emergency call that also sends a description of their symptoms to an emergency contact. Once activated, alerts get sent at two-minute intervals and include sound and visual reminders, which ares intended to ensure that users are not overlooked.
The safety notes function shows the latest COVID-19 updates shared by the government. It also enables users to get an update on what the social distancing requirements are, as well as the latest compliance rules. The first aid notes function helps users to understand their symptoms, and is designed to help users take action if they are feeling unwell — including with links to the COVID-19 hotline.
“These updates help to effectively deliver emergency and incident notification and response processes to support work-from-home staff, so they get help quickly when they need it,” Raise DM Chief Executive Officer Amanda Karpeles said about the July 2020 release of the SafeTag app. Other features of the app include safety broadcasts, roll call, multiple levels of alerts and self-monitoring timers.
