Spring steel barrier

The Spring Steel Buffas range of barriers is specifically designed for applications where protection is required from heavy-vehicle glancing blows and low-speed perpendicular impacts.

The system absorbs impact energy, thereby reducing the pullout forces on the holding down bolts. Fewer holding down bolts are therefore required, resulting in an easier-to-install system and minimal damage to the impacting vehicle and barrier.

Manufactured from high-grade spring steel and heat treated for strength and flexibility, the barrier deflects on impact, reducing the forces transferred to the anchor bolts by up to 75%. This absorption of energy allows the post to be installed with only one anchor bolt while still complying with Australian Standard car park loading requirements.

The post and rail design is available with mesh infill panels and handrails providing compliance to the BCA. The width of the system can be as little as 80 mm to conserve valuable floor space. The open design allows light infiltration and does not inhibit cross flow ventilation.
