Online safety workbooks

The Enhancing Safety online system enables people to acquire occupational health and safety skills by completing online workbooks as part or all of their assessment process.

The workbooks are in five parts: self-assessment, activities and tasks, evidence documents (which can be uploaded electronically), short report and endorsement by someone familiar with the person’s on-the-job OHS skills.

The programs are based on Australian national competencies in OHS (Certificate III, IV and Diploma) and are clustered for assessment purposes. The Certificate III is applicable to any employee. The competencies are generic to any jurisdiction.

The online content features expandable text boxes for answers, a final workbook that can be submitted online or in hard copy and a facility for assessor comments to be inserted.

The workbooks can be used with a variety of modes of training delivery. Any RTO can use this for assessment and offer the training and certification which complete the training process. Students can also be referred to relevant external links and online videos.

There is also a facility for organisations accessing the system on a group basis to track the progress of their students.
