The Driver ID driver management system has been upgraded to include impact sensing - a feature that was missing in the previous model. The software has also been reworked to make the system more user friendly.
The system is fitted to forklifts and requires drivers to enter their own individual pin code or swipe card to start the forklift thus eliminating unauthorised forklift use.
It will also prompt the first driver that enters their code at the start of a shift to carry out and record a full safety start-up check. If they answer yes to each question, the system will allow the forklift to start. Should they answer no to any question, the system will prompt them to contact their supervisor. The supervisor can then enter their override code, depending on the severity of the problem. Should the problem be deemed unsafe, the supervisor won’t enter their code and the service provider should be contacted.
