ESAB TAP 1T and 3T three-axes positioners range

Working with heavy, circular or multi-angled objects is difficult and can cause accidents or injuries when trying to position these for welding.

Conventional methods of working on the floor and using chain blocks, overhead cranes or forklifts not only forces the welder to crouch into position but also to stop welding each time the work piece is moved.

To assist the welder in lifting and positioning such demanding work pieces, the ESAB TAP 1T and 3T three-axes positioners are claimed to overcome this difficulty. The positioners will handle work pieces of up to 1 and 3 tonne.

Having both hydraulic lift and tilt, the positioners can ‘dead-lift’ objects from the ground and move these to the optimum welding height and position, for easy access by the welder, saving time and meeting OHS requirements.

Control of the three axes of height, tilting angle and rotation gives the welder the optimum ergonomic working position. Rotation is by way of an efficient vector drive, AC motor and gearbox. The rotation speed is controlled by means of an inverter.

Designed for the most demanding engineering conditions, these compact positioners exceed the strict international EN safety requirements.

To prevent hose failure, the hydraulics for height and tilt adjustment is equipped with built-in safety valves.

A low-voltage (24 V) remote control unit is used to control all functions. An optional foot switch is also available.
