WorkSafe is investigating the work-related death of a 60-year-old truck driver at a transport depot at Dampier.

The man was believed to have been transferring cement powder between a truck and a silo when the silo collapsed, crushing him.

Inspectors travelled to the site and will interview witnesses and investigate the circumstances.

WorkSafe WA Commissioner Nina Lyhne said any work-related death was a tragedy and relayed her sincere condolences to the man's family.
