Victoria calls for nominations
WorkSafe Victoria announced this week that nominations for its 2007 WorkSafe Awards are open.
The awards are designed to recognise outstanding efforts in making workplaces safer. "That's why businesses, individuals, groups of workers, health and safety representatives and unions should enter this year's WorkSafe Awards," WorkSafe executive director, John Merritt said.
The 2007 awards will see the introduction of a new category " Best Design for Workplace Safety, with the rest of the categories remaining the same as last year.
Nominations will remain open until 11 May and the awards will be presented on 23 October during Work Safe Week.
"The WorkSafe Awards help us spread the word that safe workplaces are better workplaces. In many cases it only requires a little thought and preparation to make workplaces safer," Merritt said.
