Preventing slips, trips and falls in Qld
A new guide for preventing slips, trips and falls has been released by the Queensland Department of Employment and Industrial Relations.
The guide has been designed to provide practical advice for controlling the risk of injury from slips, trips and falls in the workplace.
It addresses such topics as: legal requirements; incidence of slips, trips and falls in the workplace; risk management techniques; and control measures.
Control measures range from issues such as design considerations, flooring and lighting to machinery and equipment, staff training and footwear, and signage.
The guide also contains a sample checklist covering many common control measures as well as a sample risk assessment and control plan.
