Melbourne man crushed to death by falling truck panels

WorkSafe Victoria is investigating an incident where a 56-year-old production manager died after a stack of 3.6 tonne panels fell on him as they were being unloaded from a shipping container. It is believed that the man was inside the container at a Carrum Downs truck body manufacturing business in south-east Melbourne when the panels crushed him against the wall.

WorkSafe Victoria reports that there have been three workplaces fatalities this year — one more than at the same time last year.
