Wednesday, 12 March, 2008

WorkSafe is investigating the work-related death of a 22-year-old apprentice cabinet maker at a furniture factory in Malaga last Friday.

The young man was believed to have been working with a stack of large timbers when the stack fell and crushed him.

Inspectors travelled to the site soon after and will interview witnesses and investigate the circumstances.

WorkSafe WA Commissioner Nina Lyhne said any work-related death was a tragedy, and relayed her sincere condolences to the man’s family.
