Upgraded safety locks

Friday, 18 September, 2009 | Supplied by: Fortress Systems Pty Ltd

The H31 safety lock mechanism has been replaced with the upgraded mGard CL disc tumbler lock.

The CL lock forms the building block of the Fortress range of trapped-key mechanical interlocks that ensure sequential switchgear control and safely-control access to hazardous machinery.

The lock is made mostly of stainless steel components and offers over 200,000 non-masterable combinations that can be operated by a standard stainless steel key inserted either way up. Combinations are determined by customer coding needs, giving the user full control over the integrity of the system, although a limited number of generically coded locks are available.

The lock is suitable for high-frequency, heavy-duty interlock applications across a broad spectrum of industries. The high integrity mechanism can operate in temperatures ranging from -40 to +150 °C.

Colour-coded locks and keys are available for enhanced process identification.
