Silvent safety air knife

Thursday, 24 January, 2019 | Supplied by: Spray Nozzle Engineering

The Silvent safety air knife is designed to reduce compressed air noise and usage.

When manufacturing lightweight composite panels for vans, trucks and trailers, compressed air can be used to blow away excess plastic and dust and cool the panels.

The air knife consists of 28 in-line 920 air nozzles, with two outer nozzles that can be turned off via a ball valve. This allows for reduced noise levels and a more efficient use of compressed air.

The 920 air nozzle is a flat nozzle that provides a wide but thin line of compressed air. Constructed from zinc, the air nozzle is most often used in air knife application and can reduce noise levels by up to 77% and compressed air usage by up to 55%, according to the company.

The company has a full range or stainless air knives for food, beverage and industrial applications, as well as pre-made manifolds for ease of installation.
