Rugged safety switches

The VSY fully-sealed safety switches can detect a coded tag at distances of up to 30 mm from the sensing head with reduced power consumption and high temperature operation.

Advantages of RFID-coded safety switches include vibration tolerance and a lack of interlocking tongues and other mechanical parts that allow for fully-sealed operation and suitability for use in hygienic and hose-down environments. High-visibility LEDs indicate the switch status in any location.

The switches are available with sensing heads on the front, side and back, working with a variety of coded tags that trade size, cost, sensing distance and area. Tags are available which allow 30 mm sensing range over an area of 30 x 60 mm. The variety of tags ensures that there is a safe and convenient mechanical solution for all types of gates and doors.

These switches interface with safety controllers and relays and provide CAT3 and CAT4 protection using a single switch and a pair of controller inputs.

The IP68-rated units are fully moulded and are available in low-cost cable tail versions or M12 quick-release connectors.
