When fitting safety systems to older presses and press-brakes, it is important to fit monitored hydraulic or pneumatic valves. These devices require careful engineering to ensure their efficacy and reliability.

An alternative method allows for movement monitoring of the machine. In this case, any unexpected motion is detected and allows the shutdown of the machine by secondary control. The secondary controls can be monitored electrical devices, such as contactors that are tested on startup and at regular minimum time intervals.

The V4SX-PV Press Controller is supplied with hardware for motion monitoring and allows for the reliable and safe retrofitting of light curtain guarding to presses, without modifying the machine hydraulics.

The controller offers interfaces for two light curtains, safety gates and emergency stop. Other standard features include pulse mode, muting with indication and mute stop.

The device has programmable parameters which allow it to suit a wide variety of machines and user requirements. The parameters are programmed using the standalone Arcobus programmer modules available from Jemtech.
