Mezzanine safety system

The Mezgate unit incorporates a sliding panel which secures the opening in the mezzanine railing, a fixed fence which generally is permanently fixed at right angles to the front railing, a hinged pair of panels and a locking system which ensures total security.

The gate operation is not concurrent. The sliding panel must be fully closed before the hinged panels that form the secure enclosure can be opened and conversely, the hinged panels must be locked to form the secure enclosure before the sliding panel can be opened.

The standard gating system is generally designed to accommodate the standard pallet 1165 or 1200 mm2.

The Mezgate unit can be made to suit any size pallet provided there is room on the mezzanine floor and sufficient railing length to accommodate the opening in the railing and the stowage of the sliding panel. The advantage of the unit is that the effort to operate the system is only marginally increased as the sliding panel runs on nylon wheels and the hinged panels are supported on castering wheels.

A significant attribute of the system is the interlocking system. The interlocking system is so flexible in its concept that it can virtually be applied to interlock any two aperture closing panels or doors.
