Gates Australia has a range of power transmission tools available for industry that have enhanced the way belts and drives are installed and maintained. The BIRD Belt Installation and Rotation Device was developed to minimise finger and hand injuries. Hands can get caught in pinch points during routine installation and maintenance. The BIRD consists of two powerful permanent magnets that can be applied directly to the shover sprocket for belt rotation and inspection, rather than manually rotating the belt by hand, which can result in injury.

The BIRD facilitates a rotational inspection of the drive while the drive is shut down and locked out. The device also provides a more ergonomic way to rotate belt drives and features switchable on/off magnets to allow for easy installation and removal. It comes with a durable case, to provide protection when not in use.
