Banner Engineering DX99 Wireless Node with compact metal housing

Monday, 20 December, 2010 | Supplied by: Micromax Pty Ltd

A compact metal housing rated for Class I, Division 1 hazardous locations is available for Banner Engineering’s intrinsically safe DX99 Wireless Node product line.

A DX99 Node provides power to sensors directly within a hazardous area, with an integrated battery power supply that produces an intrinsically safe power source for the radio transceiver and external third-party sensors. Equipped with the housing, the DX99 Node is more versatile while maintaining its single chamber design - placing the battery, wiring terminal and radio together for easy mounting and connection to sensors.

Suitable for industrial process applications, the nodes create a secure wireless network, with features such as a built-in site survey tool that allows the installer to easily determine the quality of the wireless link. The nodes additionally provide a combination of input options including discrete, analog, thermocouple and RTD.

DX99 Node radios transmit and receive wireless data up to 4.8 km - 150 mW with 2 dBi antenna - while consuming very little power. Low-power electronics combined with its sampling technology provide a standalone solution that operates for years on a single battery. Additional accessories, including flange and pipe mounting brackets, are also available.

The housing is suitable for the following areas: Class I, Div 1, Groups A,B,C,D; Class II, Div 1 Groups E,F,G; Class III, Div 1; Zone 0 and Zone 20 combustible dust and flammable gases.
