Vic truck driver crushed by tipper trailer

WorkSafe Victoria is investigating an incident in which a truck driver was crushed to death by a tipper trailer in Wollert on Friday, 5 August 2022. It is understood that the 59-year-old was working to free a pneumatic strut on the trailer after delivering a load to a construction site at about 2.15 pm when the tipper lowered onto him.

This is the seventh truck-related workplace fatality in 2022 and takes the total workplace fatality toll to 32, 10 fewer than at the same time last year.
