Safety alerts issued for NT cattle, construction industries
NT WorkSafe has issued two safety alerts, following recent incidents in the cattle industry and the construction industry.
The first safety alert concerns the risk of serious or fatal injuries when working on or near unguarded machinery. The alert was issued after an incident in late December, when a NT cattle station worker suffered fatal injuries after becoming entangled in the moving parts of a bore pump.
The second safety alert highlights the dangers of unauthorised people accessing residential construction sites. The second safety alert serves as a reminder for people with management or control of residential construction sites of the requirement to secure these sites to prevent unauthorised access.
