Remote triggering available for in-shoe analysis system
Tekscan has released products that improve the flexibility of its VersaTek wireless and data logger systems, including the F-Scan in-shoe plantar pressure analysis system.
The remote triggering products, the Trigger Transmitter (TT-1) and Trigger Receiver (TR-1), allow users to synchronise F-Scan wireless and data logger recordings with other measurement devices, such as electromyography (EMG) and motion analysis systems, providing them with the necessary coordination of data for a more complete and thorough analysis.
The triggering devices will synchronise the start and stop of data collection with an F-Scan system and an EMG system, so users can evaluate the relationship between muscle activity and plantar pressures as the subject runs or jumps. They even allow users to synchronise recordings frame by frame with devices that provide a pulse-per-frame signal, like a 3D motion analysis system. The data can then be played back simultaneously, or it can be exported in an ASCII format for statistical analysis.
The capabilities let users capture different kinds of data for the same activity, giving them a more complete picture of human gait and foot function. They also incorporate plantar pressure measurements into a video gait analysis.
The TT-1 and TR-1 are available as optional add-ons to any VersaTek wireless or data logger system.
