Mechanic killed by trailer in workplace incident

A diesel mechanic has died after being run over by a B-double trailer in Werribee South on 11 July 2022. WorkSafe Victoria is investigating the incident, which occurred when the 29-year-old mechanic was working underneath the trailer that was hitched to a prime mover that was driven away, leaving the worker with fatal injuries.

The death takes the workplace fatality toll to 30 in 2022, four fewer than at the same time last year.
