Basic prediction capabilities for the CSI 6500 protection system by Emerson allows users to make real-time decisions on operating their critical assets.

These basic prediction capabilities require only minimal time and wiring investments and will be available in the AMS Suite: Machinery Health Manager v 5.61 software.

Using a simple Ethernet connection from the protection system, users receive periodic parameter trends and spectrum/waveform data delivered on specific intervals. This data can determine the health of sleeve bearings on turbo machinery, while the automated process for acquiring prediction data will eliminate the need to connect to buffered outputs on the protection system, thereby reducing the risk of causing a machine trip.

Waveform data from the protection system is also incorporated onto the circular polar plots accessible in the software, which can facilitate diagnosis of developing valve faults in reciprocating compressors.
