Sigma Delta FD1 fall arrest detector
The FD1 fall arrest detector is a wireless system designed to let others know if a person has fallen from a height. It is normally used with a sling rig/safety harness. Its purpose is to avoid a person being suspended for periods of time.
The system contains a detector worn by the worker that will transmit an RF signal to a base station should he/she fall. The base station then reports this alert via a siren, mobile phone or other device. The signal to the base station will occur in less than 1 s of the fall occurring. For additional range a repeater may be used.
The system can be used at any place where a person is working at heights - construction sites, buildings, unloading/loading trucks, trains; working on scaffolding or racking systems.
