Fall protection for 'hot work'

Providing a safe work environment for people carrying out ‘Hot Work’ has always been a difficult.

Miller Fall Protection has carried out a great deal of research on heat resistant materials. Using these new materials has enabled the company to both revise their current designs and to add a number of new designs, both for harnesses and lanyards.

With three welding harnesses and three lanyards to choose from, the KMAX range is suitable for use in environments where hot sparks or molten materials may come into contact with the equipment.

The welding harnesses include:

  • the original KMAX.1 cross-over welders’ harness;
  • the KMAX.2 , a vest style welders’ harness;
  • the KMAX .3, a basic vest style welder’s harness.

Welding lanyards to suit these harnesses are the KMAX 2m Flame Retardant Single and Double Lanyard or the KMAX 2m Adjustable Lanyard, which can accommodate lengths from 600 mm up to 2 m.

Hot work, either at heights or in confined spaces, has to be carefully planned and prepared for. Now with a full range of harnesses, lanyards, it has just become a lot easier.
