Vic company charged over dangerous goods storage
WorkSafe Victoria has charged Crossroads Logistics Pty Ltd for allegedly breaching section 31(1) of the Dangerous Goods Act at a site in Tottenham. The company is facing four changes under the Act, for failing to take all reasonable precautions to avoid tampering, theft or unauthorised access involving dangerous goods that were stored at the premises between March 2019 and March 2020.
The company also allegedly failed to take all reasonable precautions to prevent the leakage of dangerous goods and to prevent a fire or explosion at the site. Crossroads also allegedly failed to take all reasonable precautions to prevent any damage to property or danger to the public by an accident involving dangerous goods at the premises.
The site is not the location of the 2018 chemical fire at Tottenham.
