Coming up: Work Safe Week

Tuesday, 09 October, 2007

Workers in all occupations across Victoria are being urged to "learn the latest and stay up to date" by attending a free seminar during this year's Work Safe Week.

"Learn the latest and stay up to date' is this year's Work Safe Week theme, serving as a reminder that keeping abreast of the most up-to-date OHS information can help prevent workplace injuries.

Less than three weeks away, Work Safe Week from 22-26 October is everyone's opportunity to hear and see the latest health and safety initiatives in their area.

"Thousands of Victorians are facing drought while many are dealing with other pressing issues in their communities," WorkSafe Victoria's executive director John Merritt said.

"We're all working harder to meet these challenges but there's no excuse to drop the ball on simple workplace safety initiatives."
