The Alcotech AR2020 is a wall-mounted alcohol breath testing unit designed for use in workplaces with a zero tolerance alcohol policy. It is due for release in the first quarter of 2007.
It is simple to operate and delivers fast and accurate breath alcohol screening at the touch of a button. The time between tests is less than 30 s and to maintain accuracy the AR2020 performs an automated self-calibration daily. Instructions on how to conduct a test are printed on the front panel, with test results shown on a large, bright and easy to read display. The AR2020 uses ordinary drinking straws to allow the user to blow into the unit. This keeps the cost per test low and enables each person to use a clean, sanitised straw.
The AR2020 is fully configurable. The levels at which a pass and a fail occur can be set at any time through the menu system. The information displayed can also be changed to either display the percentage alcohol reading or any custom text messages such as ''Access granted'' or ''Access denied''.
A wireless remote control is used to maintain and configure the unit, eliminating the possibility of tampering.
