The Ventis MX4 multigas detector is a lightweight, highly configurable instrument that is available with or without an integral pump and is compatible with iNet Gas Detection as a Service.

The device detects one to four gases including oxygen, combustible gases (LEL or CH4) and any two of the following toxic gases: CO, H2S, NO2 and SO2. Suitable for confined space monitoring and/or continuous personal monitoring in potentially hazardous environments, the instrument is designed to keep workers safe in a variety of industries. In confined space applications, the detector can be used to draw samples from up to 30 m with the integral pump. The gas detector alerts users in dangerous conditions through an audible alarm, ultra-bright LED visual alarms and a powerful vibrating alarm.

A range of sensors, batteries and chargers is available, including a lithium-ion battery option which enables up to 20 h of uninterrupted personal monitoring when used with the no pump version. Overmould colour options are also available, including either black or safety orange for increased visibility.

The detector has received the ANZEx and INMETRO approvals for intrinsic safety. With ANZEx approval, applicable to the Australian and New Zealand markets, the detector bears marking codes Ex ia s Zone 0 I; Ex ia s Zone 0 IIC T4; and IP66/IP67. With INMETRO approval, applicable to the Brazilian market, the monitors now bear marking codes Ex d ia IIC T4 Gb and IP66/IP67.
